Supervision refers to overseeing the subordinate at work to ensure that they are doing their work according to the predetermined plan. It ensure proper utilisation of resources and rectification of work of the subordinate whenever they go wrong. The major responsibility of supervision lies with the first line of management. Sound Organization setup, effective delegation, human approach, effective communication and management by exception make supervision effective.
